A brief history of Pure Vista’s innovative and market-leading balustrade products.

The first Pure Vista product to be launched was the Origin-Grip in 2007. The Origin-Grip system is simple yet highly effective, using a sliding wedge system inside a channel to secure the glass in position. This was an easy to fit system that could withstand a high 3kN load capacity. This quickly made the Origin-Grip a popular favourite in both the domestic and commercial balustrade marketplaces. With continued product development and innovation at the core of our values, Pure Vista later released a revised Origin-Grip system called ORIGIN-R, a lighter-weight version of the Origin-Grip that offers an extremely cost-efficient balustrade solution with up to a 1.5kN load capacity, perfect for domestic projects.

In 2012, we released a new product called POSIglaze. This was the first two-way adjustable balustrade system to hit the market. Using a simple spanner adjustment on each side of the channel to securely fix the glass through a range of angles – great if you’re adding balustrade to an uneven surface! Precision designed for both base and side fixing and up to a 1.5kN load capacity, this system is ideal for a wide range of domestic and light commercial projects.

The next Pure Vista innovation to be released was a spigot-based balustrade system. Designed to provide the most uninterrupted vista possible with very easy installation and up to a 0.74kN load capacity. This makes the SPIG-LITEpro appropriate for domestic use. The SPIG-LITEpro is the only balustrade system that can be packed into small boxes, which makes storing and transporting it simple and inexpensive. Our SPIG-LITEpro was fully released to market in 2015 and quickly became a firm favourite with some of our premium partners.

For commercial uses, a higher load capacity is required on your balustrade. This lead to the development of the MEGAgrip system. Following the same principals of the fully adjustable POSIglaze system, MEGAgrip can withstand load capacities of up to 3kN without the need for posts or handrails. This made MEGAgrip the strongest frameless glass balustrade system available. That was at least, until we invented BLASTguard and BULLETguard; variations of the MEGAgrip system that can withstand a bomb blast or stop a bullet. A conversion kit is all it takes to upgrade our MEGAgrip into BLASTguard or BULLETguard.

In 2021 the SPIG-LITEadvanced was introduced. Superseding the pro, this lightweight and easy to install spigot channel has proved very popular with installers and architects alike. Without a channel, there is a greater percentage of glass visible to maximise your view. The individual spigots allow for free flow water drainage making this system perfect for wet areas, such as a poolside. Mechanised by our patented screw-clamp adjustment device, each individual panel of glass in the SPIG-LITEadvanced system can be horizontally adjusted once in position, guaranteeing an accurate installation and flawless finish. This is ideal for domestic installations where up to 0.74kN force loading capability is required. For example, as an elegant swimming pool fence, it’s an aesthetic way to achieve a low maintenance safety barrier around a pool. The spigot is also a popular choice for garden screening to create zones within your garden or defined walkways through an outside space that allow light to penetrate and views to be maximised.

In 2023, after an intense period of research, development and testing Pure Vista were ready to launch two new channels. Starting with POSIone, a one-side-fit POSI style channel. This was developed from customer need and is proving to be a popular system so far. Available in our silver and black brushed colours. Tested to 1.50kN, this is ideal for domestic and commercial applications.  In 2023 both POSIglaze and POSIone have been fire tested and are now certified to EN 13501-1. A2, S1, D0 with 23mm PyroGuard Protect T-23, this makes the POSI channels safe to install on block of flats and residential projects that are over 11m high from floor level.

Next ARIA the Pure Vista Juliet balcony was launched. A patented design to us, this system holds the glass on a strong Aluminium block instead of using the screw method. Initially launched in silver brushed, there are plans for graphite grey and black to suit the popular window frame colours. Another popular system from the go. This Juliet balcony is very convenient for installers because the same channel can be used for either fascia or reveal fix, the installer just has to finish off the suitable drill hole, this reduces stock storage because the kit can be used for both ways of installation.

Lastly, in 2023 Pure Vista launched an Aluminium slot tube handrail with corresponding plastic joiners and endcaps. The extremely lightweight handrail is available in black and silver brushed to match our balustrade systems. It is cheaper than the standard stainless steel slot tube handrail and is tested to 1.5kN force loading. The handrail is also anodised to 25 microns and available in 3m and 6m lengths.
